The Kenya Scouts Association Long Awaited Patron's Day To Be Held On The 26th January 2023 at State House Nairobi



The Kenya Scouts Association Chief Commissioner Mr. Victor Radido,has officially announced by the association'sannual Patron’s day celebration date through a letter dated 5th January 2023 CC CIRCULAR 1/2023. The annual event, which is held in honor of the association's patron, who is the country’s sitting president and in this case His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya Dr. William Samoei Ruto, is an opportunity for scouts from all over the country to come together and celebrate their achievements and contributions to the nation.

It is a such great honour to all scouts all over the country to celebrate this day since the last celebrations which were in 2019 due to Covid 19 break out in the world.  So for the last three years the Kenya scouts have not had any celebrations of this kind.


 

The celebrations involve all registered scout members from all the four groups which are the Sungura Scouts aged 6 to 11 years, Chipukizi scouts aged 12 to 15 years, the Mwamba scouts are who mainly in the secondary schools aged between 16 to 19 years, Jasiri scout who are in colleges, universities and out of school and the scout leaders from the national body down to the subcounty level.

The day's activities will include a parade of scouts, a flag-raising ceremony, and speeches by the president and other dignitaries. There will also be demonstrations of scouting skills, such as first aid and wilderness survival, as well as cultural performances and games.

 

The Kenya Scout Association is the national Scouting association of Kenya. Scouting was founded in British East Africa in 1910 and became a member of the World scout Organization of the Scout Movement in 1964.it  is one of the oldest and largest scouting organizations in Africa, with over one million members. The association's mission is to promote character development and citizenship training among young people, and to prepare them to be responsible, productive members of society.

The Patron's Day event is open to the public, and all are invited to attend and show their support for the scouts. The association encourages everyone to come out and join in the celebration, and to help honor the important role that scouts play in building a better future for Kenya.

 


In addition to the activities and demonstrations, the Patron's Day event will also feature a number of awards and recognition ceremonies, honoring those scouts who have excelled in their service to their communities and the nation. These awards will be presented by the president and other high-ranking officials, and will include the prestigious Silver Star Award, which is given to scouts who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service.

The Patron's Day event is an important part of the scouting calendar in Kenya, and is eagerly anticipated by scouts, leaders, and supporters alike. It is a celebration of the hard work and dedication of scouts, and an opportunity to recognize their contributions to the country.

In addition to the main events at State House, there will also be a series of satellite events held in different parts of the country, allowing scouts in other regions to participate in the celebration. These satellite events will feature many of the same activities and demonstrations as the main event, as well as local cultural performances and games.

We encourage all registered members of the Kenya Scouts Association to come out and support the scouts on the 26th of January 2023. This is going to be the first major activity for the Kenya Scouts for the yraer 2023. Other key activities will be rolled out as the time table is made available to key members and stakeholders.
