Digital marketing has quickly become one of the fastest growing and most in-demand careers available today with the ability to work on fun and exciting projects work with amazing companies and live the laptop lifestyle working from anywhere in the world it's easy to see what makes the digital marketing industry so appealing

Getting involved in the digital marketing industry has easily been one of the best decisions of my entire life and has proven to be one of the most fun and most rewarding careers i could have ever hoped to have.

Digital marketing has enabled me to live where i want to work on fun and exciting projects with the people that i really enjoy spending time with and also to make more money than i ever thought possible.

So what is digital Marketing?

It is defined as the science & art of exploring, creating and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target marget at a profit.

Marketing in turn identifies unfulfilled need and desires, defines measures and quantifies market and profit potential. It also pinpoints which segment the company can serve as well as designing and promoting appropriate products and services.

Digital Marketing is fundamentally not different from traditional marketing.

There are 5 P’s of digital marketing namely:

People – marketers merge behavioral data from consumer landscapes making it possible to create a perfect picture of customers also known as Buyer Personas. Anyone who comes into contact with your customer, even indirectly, this is done by recruiting the best talent at all levels, not just in customer service and sales.

Place – where you sell you product. This could be websites, social media, mobile aspects etc.

Product (or Service) – your customers only care for one thing; what your product or service can do for them. Prioritize making your product best it can be and optimize your product lines accordingly i.e 9 product –led marketing).

Price –many factors go into pricing model such brand.

Promotion – it is the part of the marketing mix that the public notices most. It includes mainstream and print advertising, content marketing, coupons or scheduled discounts,social media strategies, email marketing, display ads digital strategies, marketing communications, serch enging marketing, public relations and much more.

There are 3 types of media used in leveraging Digital Marketing

Paid Media – these are channels you pay for such as ppc (pay per click),affiliate marketing & display marketing.

Owned Media – channels that you directly control such as your website, email list and blogs.

Earned Media – Channels with organic mentions such as posts by other on social media, third party blogs and articles.

How do you Develop a Marketing Strategy;

        I.            Understand what it is you are selling,

      II.            Identify who you are selling to ( target market)

    III.            Look at your competions

    IV.            Layer marketing channels alongside customer journey.

Identifying your target market; this can be accomplished by Customer Segmentation which means taking your broad target market and breaking it down into smaller groups of people that have a lot of in common. E.g

·         Demographics – factors in age, gender, marital status, income and or educational level.

·         Psychographics – classifies a group of people according to opinions, beliefs, values, attitudes & interests.

·         Behavioral Attributes – identify consumers based on an action they take and how frequently they take it.

·         Needs – devides the market into customer segments that each havr distinct needs.
